Godfrey Farruġia
President
Dr Godfrey Farrugia is a specialist in family medicine. He has held numerous public posts and is a Licence A pyrotechnician. He is a well-known personality among feast enthusiasts and is actively sought after by the media and university students to air his opinion on various cultural topics, especially traditional feasts. He is author, editor, and contributor to a number of books, newspapers, periodicals, and magazines.

Charles Briffa
Secretary
Charles Briffa began manufacturing fireworks at the age of 18 years alongside his father Joseph Briffa. Started exporting fireworks in 1971 mainly to United Kingdom while competing in international fireworks festivals. For over 53 years Charles has been importing chemicals and raw material for the manufacture of fireworks. In 1981 he was a co-founder of the Ghaqda Piroteknici Maltin and since 2013 he is the secretary of Ghaqda Piroteknika Maltija.

Charles Azzopardi
Treasurer
Charles Azzopardi has occupied the post of treasurer since 2012. He is a licence A pyrotechnician. He had started practicing the craftsmanship in 1973 for the feast of St Paul, Rabat obtaining a licence A im 1980. He was the licensee of St Mary’s Fireworks Factory Ghaxaq from 1980 to 2022.
Louis Chetcuti
Vice - President
Louis Chetcuti is graduated from the University of Malta in Education. He has been involved in the manufacture of fireworks for the last 26 years. He is currently the licensee of St. Mary's Fireworks Factory of Mosta
Benny Dingli
Member
From a young age, Benny was deeply involved in the feast of Our Lady of the Lilies. His passion for pyrotechnics began at the age of 17, particularly in the area of mechanical ground fireworks. In 1985, he took over the leadership of the Lily Fireworks Factory, a position he held until 2009, and then again from 2016 to 2023. During his tenure, Benny led a team of pyrotechnicians that introduced several innovations at the Lily Fireworks Factory, Under his leadership, the factory won the Ground Fireworks Festival in Floriana in 2008. Notably, Benny was part of the team that produced the largest Catherine wheel in the world in 2011, certified by the Guinness World Records. Additionally, for the last 30 years, he has been a member of the Malta Pyrotechnic Committee, In February 2024, Benny Dingli was unanimously approved as an honorary president of the Our Lady of the Lilies Musical Society in Imqabba.
Bernard Cauchi

Bernard's lifelong passion has always been fireworks, encompassing both their manufacture and the spectacular displays for special occasions. His journey into this vibrant world began in 1997 when he joined the St. Helen’s Fireworks Factory, renowned for its contributions to the Feast of St. Helen in Birkirkara. In 2008, Bernard took his expertise to the 19th March Fireworks Factory in Rabat. Within just two years, he rose to the position of licensee, a role that presented significant challenges. Nonetheless, Bernard collaborated closely with his team to create annually unique and captivating displays that delighted spectators.
Recognizing the growing demand for fireworks in celebrations and promotional events, Bernard founded BG Malta Fireworks Display in 2010. His company specializes in crafting memorable fireworks shows for weddings, corporate events, and various celebrations. Bernard is dedicated to continually growing and adapting to the evolving needs of the industry. Whether it's for New Year’s Eve, a wedding, a birthday, a corporate event, or a village feast, Bernard ensures that there is always a dazzling fireworks display to anticipate and enjoy.
Tony Zarb
Member
Anthony Zarb hails from Għargħur. He is a public service official and a licence A pyrotechnician registered with Għargħur Fireworks Factory. He spends a good deal of his spare time manufacturing fireworks, to an extent that he calls the factory his ‘second home’.
The association grants approval for fireworks displays.
Permits may be endorsed by authorities in Malta and Gozo.
